Hi Audrey

They're still in Hawick in 1881 at 1 Mid Row. James, 42, down as b. Dumfries, Dumfriesshire
In 1891, living at Lothian Street, Hawick. James, 52, born Dumfries.
In 1901 living 8  Drumlanrig Square, Hawick. James, 65, b. Dumfries

I think I saw a death - will go check.

James died 19 May 1911 in the Poorhouse, Hawick, aged 73. Married to Isabella  Oldham
Parents are James Douglas, Wool Framework knitter (deceased) and Annie, m.s. Smith, (deceased)

Looks like the one  :)

Thanks very much for this info .I have found it really hard sorting out my Douglas lot as they all stuck with the same names through the generations you saved me some credits too as I would of got his dearth cert to confirm it was the right James Douglas .That's 6 of the 8 children born to James Douglas and Ann Smith who both died from Cholera in 1848
