joseph sutherland and jane mckenzie

Was wondering if anyone has any information about this couple from Dingwall one of their sons Hector was my great grandfather. Joseph was supposed to have been born Lairg in Sutherland probably around 1794. My grandfather Hector came out on the Great Britain from Liverpool in the 1860's his brother Charles was already in australia he had come over in the 1850s. I believe that Barbara and Margaret also came out to AustraliaI believe that Joseph died when he was 80 years old.Have no idea if Jane was still alive also wondering what happened to Catherine and Walter?

Thank you for all that information.I believe Joseph died april 1852 were there any notices in the local papers and does anybody know where he was buried?

If Joseph died in 1852 age 80 he would have been born abt 1772.

Joseph Sutherland and Jane McKenzie are buried in Dingwall, St Clements.

There is a photo of a worn gravestone on Ross & Cromarty Roots with this inscription.

In memoriam/JOSEPH SUTHERLAND/died April 28th 1852 aged 80 years/JANE MACKENZIE/his beloved wife/died Feby 29th 18[?]2 aged 7[?]/ELIZABETH/[..?] died 183[?] aged 3 years.

I'm beginning to wonder if the gravestone inscription actually says age 50.

Jane McKenzie died in 1872 age 69 .
