Beagle family in Cheam
« on: Saturday 14 April 12 19:37 BST (UK) »
First, a basic question - should I be looking under Surrey or London for information re a family in Cheam?  My search relates to a family named Beagle.  A relative, Mary Morgan from Aberdare (Glamorgan), married a Robert Beagle in Bristol on 20 December 1930 and as a child, during World War II or shortly after, I was taken to Cheam to meet a family of that name, who I presume must have been them.  My recollection of the visit is extremely vague, but I remember that there was a boy, about my age or slightly older, named John Beagle.  Does anyone have any information about this family?

Hi

The birth was in 1934 and seems to be the only one.  There is no death showing for him so he is possibly still living in which case we would be unable to provide any info about him

I am sending you a pm with some additional info

The 1938 Street Directory for this area shows  R.H. Beagle at 51 Chatsworth Rd, North Cheam.

According to the British Phone Books on Ancestry, RH Beagle was still living at 51 Chatsworth Road until 1954.  From 1955 he possibly moved to 36 Wilmot Way, Banstead, Surrey and the last listing I can find for him at this address in this category is 1969.

There is a death in Surrey South Eastern district for a Robert Henry Beagle in Sept qtr 1975. D.O.B. given as 27 November 1899.
