Gladys Edna P Carroll

I'm  looking for the parents of Gladys Edna P Carroll born March Quarter 1920 in Birmingham, mothers maiden name Parkes
she married Gerald W Faulkner in 1937 in Birmingham and died in Birmingham in Oct 1997
I cant seem to find a suitable marriage for her parents
Please can anyone help?

Was the P in her name "Parkes"?  The only one I can find it post Gladys' birth - 1922 in Walsall, which is not too far away - Hilda M Parkes to Frank Carroll.    Its always possible she was born pre marriage

It may be one where you need to get the marriage certificate for Gladys to Gerald to see who the father was.

There are 3 possible siblings for Gladys born back in Walsall (do you know if she had any brothers or sisters?)

There is a James L to them 1912, Birmingham then a gap til Gladys.
Maybe Patrick was away during the War?

Thanks for that I had found both those marriages and neither properly fitted so wondered if there was any other possibility. I think the 3 boy births in Walsall are one family and from another family tree they are "Patricks" family.
I'm not sure If James L is her brother it might be the marriage in 1922 was her parents and she was born out of wedlock!

It is unlikely she was born out of Wedlock if Reg with her Fathers name.
If you really want to be sure buy the Marriage/Birth Certs.

In the latest I could find Patrick born c 1882, Birmingham, Occp Tram Conducter, and Edith c 1882, Newport, Salop have Children;
EDITH MAY born 1908 Cairo, Egypt
THOMAS PATRICK 1910
The others you can find on FreeBMD post 1910

Looking back at Census Patrick is not easy to find, certainly not one born Warwickshire. He may have been born Ireland as their are plenty of possibles.
You may need the Marriage Cert to Edith to go back further with his Family.

1901 Edith Parkes and a Sarah Parkes age 19/21, both born newport, Salop are Waitresses in Birmingham, Warwickshire.

1891 Edith/Sarah are with their Parents;
THOMAS 1849, French, Shropshire (1901 it is Trunch)
MARY A, 1853, Newtown, Montgomeryshire, Wales
Living in Smethwick, Staffordshire
