Touch up and dating please

Please could some kind person do a little touch up. An approx date would probably be helpful as well. I am guessing around 1868. Thanks.

GUIDE FOR PHOTO RESTORATIONS PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR SCANNER BED IS CLEAN AND SCAN AT A RESOLUTION OF 300-600 WITH THE SCALE AT 100% MINIMUM.

If you would like a coloured version, details such as hair colour , eyes and clothing etc.  if known  would be helpful to restorers

POSTEES: If possible, PLEASE, scan your images at 300 - 600 dpi, for both ease of restoration and best results
RESTORERS: Feel free to change/improve/colour any restorations posted by myself.  Acknowledgment would be appreciated.

Lovely photo. For a date, could we see the whole thing uncropped if you have the original please. And please always scan in colour as it can be a dating clue.

If the lady is up to date, likely before 1865 or so, as the hairstyle doesn't show the ears. She has a full crinoline under the skirt, so 1868 would be a bit late.

The gent has a bad case of "hat hair" :D Also his eyes have been touched up by the photographer, who has added black dots for more definition, and given the subject a slightly odd look :P :D

Unusual to see a doggie in a photo :)
