« on: Thursday 26 April 12 12:41 BST (UK) »
Hi all
Philip Deslandes to Kezia possibly Stratton c 1834 living in St Heliers 1841 census.
Philip was older than Kezia so probably 2nd marriage for him.

Thanks for your help.

I presumed that Philip may have been Married before due to his age compared to Kezias.
I have no acccess to Jersey Records but info (unconfirmed) has just come to my attention ;

1st Marriage to Jeanne LE SUEUR who died 1822

2nd Marriage to Kezia Martha STRATTON
Children,

Charles 1832
Louisa Kezia 1835

Any help that can be given is appreciated.

Trish :)

On the Jersey Archive site there is a record of the baptism of Theodore Philip Deslandes, birth 9/12/1843, baptism 24/12/1843, parents Philip Deslandes, labourer and Kezia Stratton. The godparents are the father and Catherine Stratton.

There are no civil records in Jersey prior to  1842 so it's a case of hoping that they appear in parish records. I can have a look but not for a week or so - family visiting.

It's a super site even if you have no research interests there,

I agree that Jerripedia is a fascinating site for general Jersey history, however, as with the old LDS site the trees are submitted, so need to be treated with caution - I do know of several mistakes on some of them.

The 1842 onwards baptism records came from  the Jersey Archive site although the Jerripedia arrangement does make it slightly easier to group families. The pre 1837 records either relate to specific families or parishes, last time I looked St Helier was not included.
