Perfect,  thank you Chinakay. Just as I had  hoped. The two photos I have put up of these people have now been verified by clothing as the dates I had thought they were in these particular places. Wonderful---after years of wondering. :-*

Apart from the clothing for dating (I agree with Pru and China on the dates), my eye is drawn to the lady in the center and the old man to her left as being the possible Hotel keeper....  I may be well off with that assumption but as you have a death date for the owner does the death age "fit" with the approx age of the old man in the photo?

If so I would say its probably a year or two before he died.
Please acknowledge when a restorer works on your photos, it can take hours for them to work their magic

Please scan at 300dpi minimum to help save the restorers eyesight.

Thank you jc26red. It all fits , the hotel keeper is the one with the gun and he died in 1886 aged 52.
The 1860s time frame can  definitely be ruled out.Another problem solved.Thanks to everyone who helped.
