« on: Tuesday 01 May 12 00:46 BST (UK) »
Does anyone know of a Webb and/or Hoskings family/ies from Porthpean St Austell (or the St Austell area generally) who may have left Cornwall for New Zealand in the 1850's?

Thanks - Dinny

Sorry - a correction to my message re the above.  The period the Webb/Hosking families left Cornwall was the 1870's, not the 1850's.  Thanks, Dinny

Hi

I've listed the Webb's in the 1870's. The Hoskings' list is far too large and has name variants such as Hosken, Hosking and Hoskings if you were more specific, I could extract them for you.

I'm not sure where they resided, but departed from Cornwall.

Emigrants to Lyttleton/Canterbury, New Zealand.

Thomas Webb, the mariner/sailor, died at sea in the 1870s, one of my late elderly aunts told me, but there are many questions/dates surrounding this.
