Hi Andrew,
There were no Birth Certs for anyone born pre Sept 1837. The best you can hope for is a Parish Record of their Christenings to confirm same Parents.

I will have a scout around later.

The trouble is Family "legends" are incredibly unreliable.
Mine is that my Cummins line was related to the Cummins Engine Co in the USA.
Yes the person that started that Co. was from Ireland but through research totally from another area.
My Branch did have a Brother of my G/G/Grandfather go to the US at the same time my line went to New Zealand. But he was not the one that started the Co or any of his Descendants.

Trish :)

PS;
I presume you meant it is Samuel/Emmas Marriage Cert that you have ordered?

Hi Trish.
How would i get hold or see parish records please? I am glad that you know what you are going with parish records lol.

I am starting to feel like that with the salt king to be honest. Its looking glum at the moment. Only hope is to think that samuel is joseph's cousin.

Yeah sorry i mean the marriage to samuel and emma. to find samuels father.

Andrew :)

Hi. I have recently got the marriage certificate for Samuel and Emma and found out that Samuels father was called Samuel also. He was a labourer according to the marriage certificate.
Hope you can still help me with my quest :)
Are there any other options with Samuel having a father called Samuel also.
Many Regards
Andrew

Hello,
I am a descendant of Joseph Corbett and Hannah Cole. I can tell you from Newspapers written in 1901 and earlier, as well as various people bringing out books about JOHN CORBETT Salt King... that Joseph Corbett's father had a farm on the outskirts of Ludlow in Shropshire. Joseph moved to the Delph, Brierley Hill, around 1816 (in his late teens) and met Hannah Cole and married her soon after.
