Hi taymor, welcome to Rootschat.

I'm afraid you'll have to do a wee bit of detective work first - for example do you have the grave inscription?  If so, was she buried with her husband?  What is his name. Or anyone else, such as parents or siblings?

The most suitable candidate on www.freebmd.org.uk is Elizabeth Royle who died Jun qtr 1914 aged 47 (so born 1867 ish), (Chorlton 8c 1008).  Does this match up with what you know?

Also, it might be an idea to try to find her on the 1911 census.  Searching the free index for Elizabeth Royle, bn 1867 +/- 2yrs in Chorlton registration district brings up 3 candidates.  One appears to be with her children but no spouse, one appears with spouse and children, and the third appears to be with an older relation (possibly mother).

There is an Elizabeth Royle in Manchester in 1911 of the right age, born South Wales, married 21 years. She's down as a widow. I'll try to follow her back.

It may not be Marmaduke - I was only trying to narrow down the field first!

I think I have found the probate for the husband of the second Elizabeth Royle that I mentioned.  He died in 1930 and wife Elizabeth Ann Royle was named in the probate so she can be ruled out.

The first Elizabeth Royle that I mentioned is here on the 1901 census RG13; Piece: 3681; Folio: 102; Page: 18 with husband Henry Royle and 4 children (and two brothers in law)

Taymor, do you have any more information about Elizabeth at all? Was she definitely married, and do you have the names of any children? Do you know where she lived at any tine?

Any information would help to narrow down the possibilities.
