1861 has the couple as David Simpson and Ann Lee, with child David Lee. There is a marriage in 1862.

Marriage took place in the Cathedral on 4 Aug 1862

IGI also has possible baptisms for David and Ann SImpson:
Margaret Ellen bap 21 Dec 1862
Mary Ann bap 2 Apr 1865
Henry bap 18 Feb 1872
Elizabeth bap 8 Dec 1867

Wondering if the above MArgaret might be the same Margaret that is in the grave?

Is she definitely the one buried in grave 605, Southern Cemetery?

I'm wondering about this too. I can't see a marriage between Herbert Jones and Margaret Simpson, which might help to confirm it.

It does look as if the birth family of Elizabeth Simpson might have been identified, but I'm still worried about the father's name being given as Samuel. It could be a mistake, but she could be illegitimate and brought up under another name if her mother subsequently married.

Is there an occupation for Samuel? And what is Elizabeth's age at marriage according to the certificate?

If I recall, there are possibly baby deaths for both names and a Margaret aged about 60 yrs - Luther is buried in a different cemetery.

hi Marmaduke, sorry for delay in getting back. Samuel Simpson is down on the certificate as being a surveyor and Elizabeth was 22 when she married. I know that she died around 1913/14 and i couldn,t find any other death that may relate.thanks to you all, for your support in my search
