Does anyone have any information on the Douglas House of Industry. One of my ancestors was an inmate there in 1891, would she have been there because she was ill or destitute? She had been married and had two children, She also had family living in Douglas at the time. Her name was Jessie Miller (Casey before marriage.) and she was born in Douglas abt. 1860. I would like to know where i could obtain records of admissions, and if she died there.
