« on: Thursday 10 May 12 13:38 BST (UK) »
Hi! out there in the web world, did anyone attend Bisley Boys Boarding school in the mid to end 1950's???
if so, please say who you are, surnames best of course.
memories?
I visited in 1980 and took lots of photographs of Bisley Village, have them now, and intend to go back and photo exact positions 30 years on, Frith style.
please, please let me know if you were there at those times in the 1950's.
this is not a sad entry, I have happy memories of then, and have had a happy life since

I am a Trustee of Bisley Village Hall (previously the Chapel of the Bisley School - Shaftesbury School)
We are having a Heritage Event at the Village Hall  on Sunday 29th April 2018   2- 5 p.m. There will be a presentation about the Shaftesbury  and Refuge Farm Schools by our local historian.   There will also be information gathering and tea & cakes will be served.
We are hoping to use photos and memories to put together a permanent heritage presentation at the hall.

There is more information on our website www.bisleyvillagehall.org

This is a follow-up to the post from BVH on 9 March about the Bisley Boys (Shaftesbury) School in Surrey.

Since the event on 29 April mentioned in that post Bisley Village Hall's Heritage Project has made acquired artefacts, photos, documents and other memorabilia relating to the School. A lot of these will be on display at Bisley Village Hall on 9 September when two blue plaques will be unveiled: one to mark the fact that the Hall is the former chapel of the School; the other, to commemorate Boys of the School who lost their lives in the two World Wars.

If you went to Bisley Boys School or know of someone who did please come along on 9 September or at least to get in touch.  You will join a growing number of Old Boys who have already contacted us.
