Anne Casey, Co Roscommon, Baptism Help
« on: Friday 11 May 12 18:09 BST (UK) »
I have been look at the Irish side of my wife’s family, Timothy Quinlan (b1832) from Co Offlay (I believe ) Married Anne Casey(c1834) at Bolton Lancashire in 1857. On the wedding cert Annes father is Patrick Casey.
Until This afternoon that was all we knew.  On the 1861 UK census,  Anne states that she is from Ballaghaderreen, Ireland.  I have been looking on  rootsireland Today and found a Baptism/birth record for what I hope is the Anne I am looking for.

The details are-  Roman Catholic
Anne Casey,  Born-29/Dec/1834,  Baptism -11/Nov/1111 ?
Farther - Patrick casey,  Mother - Margaret Flin
Sponser – John Casey,   Sponser – Brigid Flin
Parish - loughlynn,   County – Roscommon

Is there anyone who could check I am not barking up totally the wrong tree.  I am also trying to find the marriage of Patrick and Margaret Casey.  Any help with the search would be great.

Thank you Henry

Hi Henry,

Loughglynn is in the general area of Ballaghaderreen so that looks good.

It looks as though the records for the probable time of the marriage may not be available - see here - Loughglynn parish

Ballaghaderreen is in Kilcolman civil parish (Mayo) in Griffiths Valuation which was taken during 1850s. There are entries for both your surnames here and Loughglynn is in Tibohine civil parish here

regards
heywood
