Nice finds osprey.
I never even thought to look at LDS.  ::)  Concentrated too much on census.

think I've tried all the males on the census with no success. Pretty sure they're not in Dunnottar later, so moved or emigrated?

Thanks for having a go, osprey. I found Robert Milne and Maragert Grieve too but not them...
yes  could have emigrated - maybe Ontario, Canada... I did find this:
www.smeaton.org/Brough_Detailed_Genealogy.pdf   page 52:
Ann Clark, Spinster; age 47, she was born at Galt. Her usual residence was Hamilton. Her parents were David Clark and Maria Milne, born in Scotland. The death was registered by Miss Frances E Clark, 360 Main St. E., Niece. She was buried at Hamilton Cemetery on June 23, 1923

what info do you have and what are you trying to find? I don't understand why are you dismissing Robert Milne & Margaret Grieve. The IGI records for their marriage and some of their children are extracted ones.

Years later I have FOUND them :-)
Margaret Milne at the top of the census was Margaret GRIEVE widow of Robert Milne who died some years previously in Durris. I've now tracked down most of these people in this 1841 census at Slatybaulk, Dunnottar, Kincardineshire. They emigrated to Burritt, Winnebago and several can be found in the 1850 USA Census Illinois. One of my elderly Scottish relatives has a trace of shared DNA with one of them. If you believe you are related to them private message me. I am still researching and checking data but may be able to help. Thanks to all those here who tried to assist my search to identify.
