Can anyone tell me how I would know if they were married please.

Have just tried looking at a site for the Mareeba Costin Street cemetery but can not find his name. Where did you find it Gerry?

A Sidney Braithwaite Richardson shows up at Stanthorpe in Qld as a baker in the 1922 Qld State Electoral Roll.

A Sydney Braithwaite Richardson, baker formerly of Stanthorpe was bankrupt in Cairns in 1933.

He was in Cairns as a baker in the 1934, 1936 & 1937 electoral rolls at 134 Sheridan St Cairns.

Sydney Braithwaite Richardson I have found quite a bit about from the Newspaper site that you have sent. That is such a good site for free, have found quite a bit about their cousins on this site.
I have sent for his death certificate would love to send for more but cost prevents this.

I have been looking through the informationa and would like to say a big thank you to all who replied on this family as I think these are most certainly my family.

Now does any one know how I can find out if any of them were married or had children?

It looks like that Sydney Braithwaite was married at some stage, the following newspaper aticle mentions his wife relating to his business at Stanthorpe.

I think her name was Anne or Annie because the 1925 Electoral Roll has Sydney Braithwaite and Annie Richardson residing in Texas Queensland where Sydney is a baker.

1922 Sidney & Annie Richardson in Stanthorpe where Sidney is a baker.

There was a birth registration for a Sydney B Richardson at Gen Innes in NSW in 1889 with father William & mother Elizabeth J.

A Sidney B Richardson married Annie Moore at Glen Innes in 1912.

Hi Aussie,
Have to say thank you again  - am most grateful for the amount of information you have shown up on this family and time you have spent looking.

So I am now pretty sure that William, the brother of Braithwaite, John & Septimus,  came out to Australia too before 1889. William was baptised 1847 at Winton in Westmorland and I have a note to do more research after the 1861 Census.

Do you know where I can research the ships lists to Australia for that period?

Hello All,
Great excitement - Sydney Braithwaite Richardsons death cert came today. Died 18th Aug 1950 aged 61.

Great disapointment - his father is listed as William Braithwaite Richardson BOOTMAKER Name of mother - unknown Chaston.

He was married to Ann Moore for 22 years.

Two children Daphne H 37 years and Harry B 29 years both living.

SO think that the William above is not the brother of my lot as they were mainly farmers, farm labourers and at the last census 1861 I can find my William on it says he was a groom.

Will have to get one more certificate - think that must be one for John.

Can anyone tell me how to find out if they were married or had children without buying a certificate? 

It is odd that they didn't seem to get married or have children that I can find. Have looked on the IGI but to no avail.

Any help or other ideas gratefully recieved.
