James and Susannah McClaren

I am having real problems finding my Mclarens in 1871, have also tried Scotland 1871.

I have the birth certificate for there first child James born Jan 1871, reg Feb 1871.  Address given is 46 Houlgrave Street, North Kirkdale, this is quite clear to read.  Went to the record office to get the ref from street index and discovered that Houlgrave Street only goes up to 15 or 17.  Same in 1881 and 1901.   

Houlgrave St also appears under Liverpool.   I have the family from later census, but I was hoping that the head James would put area in Scotland he was born on 1871 census.   

Any ideas on the street

Perhaps you could let us have the parents names and ages birthplaces and occupations you might have also, maybe the entry from the 1881 census would be helpful, difficult to search for just one little chap on his own.

Maybe some fresh eyes may find them as I have searched 1871 don't know how many times.

James Mclaren aged 22 born Scotland
Susannah Mclaren wife aged 18 born Liverpool
James Mclaren son aged 2 months born Liverpool.

I found out today there was another Houlgrave Street, Everton.  So will take a look.

Hi again

I got the ref and folio for Houlgrave Street it is in Kirkdale.  Looking through getting all excited, the last page was 44 Houlgrave Street.

As mentioned my family lived at 46 Houlgrave Street  

Have they been missed out.  Trying to console myself by thinking that head James would have just put Scotland and no area as birthplace.

Blast and I was hoping you would find them, I only found two really possible, but one was an unmarried lodger and the other a James Mc Clarence, just how I would have expected an illiterate enumerator to have put it down, but once again another unmarried lodger  sorry.

It does look to me as if they were missed out or page missing.  I'm looking through Edmund Street now as that was the address given on marriage cert in 1870.  Hoping there maybe some Mclarens relatives there.
