Still searching for my Elusive Great Granfather Edward Jones
« on: Tuesday 22 May 12 11:15 BST (UK) »

Hi Im searching for the Birth record of my Great grandfather Edward Jones, born in 1873, sheffield, I have tried on the sheffield indexers forum, but they have looked but couldn't find anything, they told me to try on here because Married a lady called Mary Jane Jones how came from Newtown, they married in Newtown 1899,at the time of their they were both in Tregynon, Mary's father was a stone mason, it has Edward's father down as Edward too, (but on the Cert says he was Deceased at the time of their Marriage.

They lived on a farm called Abergafren in Porthmadog, then went to live in a house Trem Tecwyn,
They had 5 children all deceasrd bar 1,

The only certs I have on him are Marriage & death certs.

Thankyou

Zoe

Hi Zoe

I see in the post-Marriage Census, his age is consistent with being born around 1876.

Some questions:
What was his age given as at marriage, and at death?
Did his marriage records also state an occupation for his deceased father?
What address did he marry from?
Who were the marriage witnesses? (and do you know who they were)

Cheers

Sorry I put Ann Lewis as a witness is should have been Ann Jones, & william Jones,
also forgot to put at the Age of Edward's death, on the cert has him down that he was 83. died in 1956

Died at the general hospital in St Asaph, buried in Minffordd cemetary, along with his wife Mary, other relatives buried in cemetary, son he died in 1957, and Edward & Mary's daughter Dorothy and her husband, they died quite young, within a week of each other due TB.

Thanks
