Parish records, Kearn family
« on: Friday 25 May 12 02:11 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I have been trying to find more information on a George William Kearn (Karn) b. approx 1796 Newtown, Montgomeryshire.    George Kearn married Ann Watkins at Tyberton on the 19th August, 1813.    We have information on George & Ann's children, no problem with that, but struggling with the parents heritage.

We think his Father was William Kearn b. 1765 at Newtown, he married 1789 at Llanllwchaiarn
to Mary Jones.  We have found death certificate for Mary Kearn 1.12.1845 at Newtown.

We think that there may have been another son born to William and Mary Kearn (Kern) a William Kearn born 1790, but not sure if we've got the right family.

Wonder if anyone has access to Parish records to assist me please.
Jan

Dear Janjim

I have found the following info for you which may be of help:

William KEARN & Mary (nee JONES) married by licence on 18th Jun 1789 and had the following children BAPTISED at Llanllwchaiarn, Newtown, Montgomeryshire:
William - 2nd Nov 1789
John - 13th March 1791
Samuel - 30th[sic] Feb 1792  This date can't be right or the month is wrong.....
George - 20th March 1796

and for info Mary was buried on 5th DEC 1845  aged 75

Hope this helps  little  :)

Thanks so much for this Allcafan.   I guess no sign of anything for William Kearn Snr. of his death.
Was there a specific church listed on the records?

At least now we can be definite that George had other siblings.

Cheers Jan
