Yes I  am here  :) and it took me quite a while to find this family and now only in the 1891 census.

Samson is actually Sanson - no wonder I couldn't find him at first.  Still can't find Noah

Anyway there is only this in name of Sanson James and nothing to show he is your man. he could be a cousin of your man.

British Army WWI Medal Rolls Index Cards, 1914-1920
Sanson James
Regiment/Corps = LC 364 Company ex, Royal Defence Corps
Regimental Number = 644803, 31729

Also can't see a birth for a Noah in Hampshire - there is one in Poole march 1/4 1901.
Also can't see a birth for a mark James in 1890-1892 in Devon Only one in Kensington in June 1/4 1891.
So trying to get some background on these men is proving difficult.

this looks like the family in 1901 -

RG13, Piece 1978, Folio 65, Page 33
Address - Tents, Heavenly Bottom, Branksome, Dorset

JAMES, Wm 1856 Gipsy Hawker    NK
JAMES, Sarah 1864  Gipsy Hawker  NK
JAMES, Thomas 1885  Gipsy Hawker  York
JAMES, Sansom 1887  Gipsy Hawker  Cork
JAMES, Liberty 1889  Branksome, Dorset
JAMES, Mark 1891  London
JAMES, Henry 1893  Scotland
JAMES, Mary Ann 1895  United States BS
JAMES, Queen 1897  Branksome
JAMES, Freedom 1899 Branksome
JAMES, Norah  1901 Branksome

Think the enumerator may have thought 'Norah' was a girl, when in fact it was probably Noah!

sorry i didn,t pick up on your earlier post how you slipped through the net i don,t know it must have been one of my senior moments  ;D hey ho .
i can,t add much but here goes , found only 2 pension records and they don,t amount to hardly any info .
thomas james att date 1 dec 1904 20 yrs of age soldier no 7478
service / home 1 dec 1904 - 4 jan 1905
occ hawker height 5 feet 5and a half  brown eyes and hair
next of kin father william mum jemima brother liberty
rossmore village heather ? [ can,t decipher writing ] parkstone dorset

liberty james , b 1887 exmouth  age at att 17 yrs 10 months
att date 23 nov 1904  3rd bat dorset regt soldier no 4880
discharge corp  dorset regt 39th & 54th of foot
occ hawker height 5 foot 5ins  eyes & hair brown
service 23 nov 1904- 21 jan 1905 [ looks like this was his training time ]
that,s it couldn,t find any of the others but not surprised as more likely most if they joined up would have seen service in ww1 , i did look at boer war site but couldn,t identify any of them but again most would have been to young for it .
