George PRIDAY, burial Frampton on Severn - 1913 or 1919?
« on: Monday 28 May 12 18:41 BST (UK) »
I have traced George PRIDAY from his birth in 1847 up to 1911, at which time he was at Pike House, Perryway, Frampton on Severn.  The GRO Index shows a death in JunQ 1919 which fits, so I then turned to www.forest-of-dean.net - nothing for 1919, but there is a transcript for the burial of a 72 year old George Priday of Pike House Perryway, May 4 1913.

If anyone has access to the Frampton PRs could they check whether it has been mistranscribed, or whether I have got completely confused?

Many thanks

Thanks Victor.  :)

Afraid it still leaves me confused  ??? - the George I am tracking is definitely the one at Pike House in 1911.  There's no FreeBMD record of a 1913 death anywhere in England  for George Priday - there are two in Wheatenhurst district - one in 1891 and the 1919 death.  I think if I ever get a windfall I'll have to get the 1919 cert just to satisfy my curiosity - he's not in my direct line, but I hate unsolved mysteries.

Cheers

My advice is to order the death certificate from GRO but ONLY give the year of death and registration district. GRO will check the year, and the year either side, and if they can't find it they WILL refund your £9.25. Try it, it DOES work.
