Florence Hardin was b. 1881 Montacute, Somerset so can rule her out. Still searching.

Did Florence Harding in fact ever marry.

Found this entry on the Samaria 29 th July 1939 Liverpool to New York via Boston.

Florence Harding b1883 no occupation, travelling with Vera Bellman, teacher 44.Same booking no.

Brit Citizens last address,Glastonbury.

Were they going over to escape the War,as so many did at that time.

Interesting Brionne, Fact is I do not know if Florence married. If she was in U.K. 1911 why wasn't she on 1911 Census.
1901 Census she was working as Domestic Servant so hardly think she had much money to go travelling but perhaps someone could find some info. to Vera Bellman. Florence would be 55/56.
Thanks for the entry, will try and find out more Syljun

Hi

Servants sometimes travelled with their employers, have you checked the Scottish and Irish censuses?

Andy

Hi, Can you post your correct Florence Harding b1883 again in 1901 with all details please,as there are so many.

The shipping reference I found in 1939 could be her,as that is a long time from her early 1901 info.

Thanks Brionne.

Hi again,
Have had a real good look around for your very elusive Florence or Florie as she is named on the 1891.
But unfortunately am unable to come up with anything constructive.

There is always the possibility that she was illegitimate I suppose,I notice her sister Sarah age 15 on 1891 is working for a George and Eliza Carver at The Grange,Stawell,Somerset, who had a daughter Florence A Carver age 28,but probably just a coincidence.
Florence whereabouts is certainly a mystery.Parents Charles and Elizabeth did a good job in registering all their other children in the Harding name in Bridgwater, seems odd that the youngest should end up with a different one,,,,,Harden.

Good luck anyway,
Brionne.

Hi, I am a Harding who lives in Stawell. I was church warden a couple of years ago and had access to births, deaths and marriage records. My grandfather was Henry Francis Harding, known as "Harry". My parents are still living in Stawell, father John Henry and mother Violet Amy Ann. I have photos of my great grandfather's brothers, Frank and Fredrick, who both worked on farms in the village. Also a distant relative of our family has lived in the house that was owned by our Auntie Minnie, her name is Jean Banger. I have sourced our family history some years ago and found a connection in South Wales, she is a descendent of a brother of my great grandfather who went Wales.
