Alexander Stevenson & Janet Taylor of Tranent

I'm looking for any information regarding Alexander Stevenson (Believed to have been born in Tranent) and his wife Janet (nee) Taylor, lived in Tranent about 1812.

I already make use of scotlandspeople, IGI websites and have the 1851 Census.
I was hoping for Janet's birthdate, if possible, and anyone who may have come across information regarding her family at Tranent. I now have another year of birth, 1814, from another source who told me Janet's parents were Alexander Stevenson and Janet Taylor, That's why I posted the above topic.

Hi Bill,

You are looking for Alexander Stevenson and Janet who lived in Tranent about 1812, but someone has given you 1814 for a birthdate for Janet. Seems a wee bit mixed up. What have you got in the way of certificates, i.e. definite proof. Was the info Carole gave you on the other post correct?

Thanks for your message I appreciate the information given by everyone, as you say a wee bit mixed up!

I now have a death record  for Janet Henderson (nee) Stevenson, widow of William Henderson who died at Uphall, Broxburn on the 11th Oct. 1890 aged 76yrs. that would make her birth year 1814.
Her  parents were Alexander Stevenson, Farmer, deceased and Janet Stevenson (nee) Taylor also deceased.Her husband William is named as former manager of the Gas works at Kirkliston before he died.

The Census given by Carol appears to be correct but the date of birth is different.

When I searched for Alexander Stevenson there were two living at Tranent around
that  time.

I’d appreciate any comments which you may have.
