Just a thought NC, could she have left mystery daughters house after 11.15 and accidently fallen in the river on the way to her own home - in the dark?? Or even dashed off after her daughter, leaving the house open and then fell into the river. As you say, you probably never will get to the bottom of it. Doesn't stop it being very frustrating though.
