Hi,

Is there anyone who has any further info on this family?  I have just started researching my Hewitt branch & would be very interested in anything to do with them. William's parents were Walter Hewitt (1774-1846),a Cordwainer, born in Hertfordshire & Elizabeth Johnson (1777-1854),also born in Herts. They were married 08/10/1798 & had the following children;William (b1800),Sarah Mary (b1804 & married Edward Lambert),Walter,(born 1807),Ann (born 1809) & James,b & d 1812. I have quite a lot of info about Sarah Mary & the Lambert family but virtually nothing on her siblings, other than the 1851 census record for William that Ruth kindly looked up for me.

Coreen

Hi

At HALS Online Names, there are a couple of interesting marriages for your notes pile.

Search for Hewit up to 1850 and note the Munden items (Smug Oak)
