Husband and wife both seem to be buried in Olds.
Just put in Prestwich but make sure it's capitalized as the site is case sensitive.

You can order obituaries from this site (pay but reasonable rates)
I can see Ralph's Wakefield's is listed as well as Norman H.'s. with deates coinciding with burials in Calgary (also found on the site above).

Hi Beechbaby

Welcome to Rootschat.

I live about 35 minutes drive from Olds. If there is any indication that headstones exist for these people I'd be pleased to make the trip to take some photos for you.

It appears that Ralph served with the CEF in WW1. You can access his attestation papers at

www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/index-e.html
under Soldiers of the First World War

There is a listing for a Prestwich currently living in Olds at the online telephone directory
www.canada411.ca

Thank you to all for valuable info. I'm sorry Cosmac if I have over-stepped I never thought about living relatives (I should have :-[  )
Could I please ask a Q - this is the first time I have come across the possibility of "Living relatives" how does one go about this - do you contact them and carefully say "I may be related" do you write or telephone.  Serious advice would be well appreciated .  Thank you in advance.
p.s. I read a lovely pce on Percy P. he had been an Indian Agent for the Blood Indian Reserve  very early 1900. The whole history of the people in question is fascinating it is so different to our British history - wool and cotton mills etc.
Thanks all.

If I was going to contact a living relative, I would send off a letter giving the relationship, why you are looking for the information and how the person can contact you. If the person is interested in family history, you may get a response and if not the letter may just be ignored. If you are looking for information to form a family tree (such as BMD's/graves/history) make mention of that. Someone may be willing to give that information but not have continuous contact. Also, the person may not be willing to give info on living persons.

Hope that helps
Val

Thank you for ALL info. I too felt that a letter would be the best way but was not sure as you say it gives the person a chance to ignore or reply. My only thought is how do I get there address  I see I have been given the details for a telephone directory - I will look at this as it may be like ours and give the address. (please don't think I am thick its just with it being abroad :-[  . Will let you know how I get on although I feel it will all take time. Thanks

Hi Beechbaby

I've sent the address to you by PM.

It appears that I have a friend in common with this person. If it is of any assistance I could put out a feeler through my friend to see if they would be receptive to an inquiry from you.
