Hi there

I've got some information but not sure how reliable it is.

I have his wife as Susannah Davies (formerly Burgess)

Also noted a possible second wife called Sarah Ann

Listed as children I have Ellen 1882

Morgan 1885

George 1888

Willie 1889

Ernest 1891

Susannah 1894

Kate 1897

I can't see Ellen or Willie on Wozzle's post (thanks Wozzle by the way) - perhaps they died early on?

Also I have reason to believe that George 1844 father might  have been called Hugh a builder of 3 Ivor Street - but nothing to verify this

If you can be of any help with this I would very much appreciate it

Thanks

Helen

Wozzle, appreciate your help.  The website I got the information from is Familysearch.org and  I've found it to be inaccurate - their 1901 census says Wilberton rather than Milverton which could be a typo or they haven't read the census correctly.  Hence I'm trying to verify the information I've got

If you could continue looking I would very much appreciate your help

Helen ;)

i take it you got the daughter ellen from the 1891 census where she is aged 9 so born approx 3 years before the marriage of george/susan so george probably married before

looks like it was Susannah who was married before to Ebenezer Burgess. There is a George of similar age married to a Sarah Ann and one married to a Sarah, but all 3 couples are on the 1891 census, so more than one George by the looks of it, one in Bristol, one in Wellington & yours in Cardiff.

The marriage cert would give you his status at marriage.
