Frances Elizabeth Kinsey
« on: Sunday 17 June 12 17:43 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Help desperately needed to locate this elusive person in 1881 and 1901.
She was born Frances Elizabeth Kinsey during the March quarter of 1874 with the Knighton RD, Radnorshire.

I can't find her at all in 1881 (although I had thought that she may have been Elizabeth Kinsey, daughter of John Kinsey and Elizabeth Pugh, but she was born in 1871 - this is definately not her), but I have found her in 1891.
She is listed as Frances Hamar born abt 1874 in Knighton, Radnorshire. She is employed as a servant in Lydbury, Clun, in Shropshire.
She married Robert Walker within the Clun regisration district in 1901 (Dec quarter) and their eldest child was born there before they relocated to Waverton, Cheshire.
She named her first son, John Hamar Walker and her eldest daughter gave the middle name of Hamar to all her children.

Can anybody find her in 1881 & 1901. I suspect she remained in the Clun area, although she may have been in Radnor in 1881.

Thanks

Sue

Her birth cert will give her parents names - she may have been illegitimate and her mother married before 1881

There are 3 female Kinsey marriages in the Knighton RD on freebmd - June 1874, Dec 1877 and March 1879

Hi,

I too have found her in 1901 as a cook in Cheshire and, along with her working as a female servant in Shropshire in 1891, the only census I can't find her on is 1881.

I thought that her parents may not have been married, or that her mother may have remarried, but after searching under her first name along with her year and place of birth, still nothing.

Still looking,

Sue

Hi Sue, if you do not have the birth certificate, have you the one for the marriage, at least this should hopefully name her father and his occupation?
