KENWARD Mary- when & where was her death registered?(COMPLETED)

Some sixteen years ago I was given details of a branch of my family tree and recently started to check it for accuracy. I have not had success in confirming the death of:

Mary Kenward* nee Pullar. Born @ Merton in 1872, married to Thomas William Kenward @ Merton in 1902. Thomas died in 1905 aged 35. Two possible children found,  Mavis Ellen born 1903 & Janet Russell born 1905.

*The tree shows the surname as Kennard but I am now certain this is incorrect and should be Kenward.

Mary's date of death is shown to be 12th March 1963 @ North Oamaru, Otago. However I cannot find evidence of this in the BDM index nor any details of a remarriage in this index.

I would be most grateful for any help please.

[There is a marriage - early 1940's - of a Mary KENWARD to Robert PETTITT. ]

Thanks Janette. The marriage registration and death of Thomas put me on the right track as to the correct surname of Kenward. Having established that, I thought finding Mary's death would be a doddle but not so.

Thank you so much!  The second marriage was obviously not available on the historical BDM website, even so I had not expected it to have taken place so long after the first.

Does anyone have access to records to acertain the cemetery in which she was buried?

Mmm ... yes, a second marriage in her late 60's, is rather a suprise.

Can confirm that Mary and Robert PETTITT (retired) were living in 1947, at Oamaru.

Mary PETTITT (widow) is last shown on the 1957 Waitaki roll, resident at 2 Glen Street, Oamaru.

Unfortunately there is no online cemeteries database for the Oamaru area  ... perhaps though someone with access to the Burial Locator, can find her resting place ?
