Death of Clarence G H F PHILIPS 1893
« on: Saturday 30 June 12 09:28 BST (UK) »
My grt grt Grandfather died on 7 Feb 1893 at

11 prince Street Falmouth

His given occupation was accountant.  His wife Alice was apparently present at his death(aged 29). He died of 3 day pneumonia but probably had TB.

Clarence Godfrey Henry Frank PHILIPS was London born and bred.

I cannot find his burial or what he was doing in Falmouth, can anybody help?

His children ended up in an orphenage when Alice died a couple of years later after an immediate remarriage!

Any Info helpful

Hi

No the record only gives his name, age,  date of burial, abode and that the ceremony was performed by a

B (Brian). Christopherson.

Just googled him and he was the rector of St. Charles the Martyr,  Falmouth between 1882-1912.

He was my Great Grandfather.  Youngest child Lydia Rose May Philips was my Gran.  Children were in Kensington & Chelsea Workhouse Schools Elwell Surrey.  Banstead Homes.  Grave is Plot: sec A. Row B. Grave 13 Falmouth Cemetery.  Gran was happy in the home.  Google home and Photo's and Text will come up.  I found them on 1891 census yesterday even though I have been looking for 3 years.  Living at 19 Exeter Place Chelsea C Phillips 27 A Phillips 26 C Phillips 5 F Phillips 2 (My Great Aunt Flo) and V Phillips 2 (My mom's cousin Eileens dad).  I am on ancestry and my tree is on there.
Don't know why he was in Falmouth and what a shock when she married George William Tarr 3 months to the day after his death.  Gran said he ran off with the maid. I think have proved this.  Alice Matilda Hayes was a Domestic Servant living at home on the 1881 Census and Clarence father has a Domestic Servant on 1871 Census.  So was Alice their maid in 1881 before they married 1884. I have emailed Judy Phillips Clarence great great grandaughter and Victor's daughter Thoras daughter Wendy Morgan. Hoping you are a relative of Great Aunt Flo I think her children were Maud Edna and Sydney.  Met Sydney & Brenda at my Grans I think they were Edna's children.  Regards Carole
