AXTON Ann (nee Cherry)
« on: Thursday 05 July 12 13:39 BST (UK) »
Could anyone please give me some advice on where I might find where Ann Axton (nee Cherry) may be buried, according to her death cert. she died on 18th March 1840 at Park Street Luton but it doesn't say where she is buried unfortunately, she is not buried a Rothesay cemetery nor at St.Mary's cemeteries - any advice where else I might enquire would be greatly appreciated.  I am in Australia and have absolutely no idea where else to look.  thank you.

In 1840 the cemetery for Luton was St Marys. Rothsay Rd Cemetery didn't open until 1854, the same year as Crawley Green Rd. She was buried in the churchyard of the parish church at Luton St Mary according to the NBI. This churchyard was closed for burials in 1853. See http://www.interment.net/data/eng/bedfordshire/stmary/index.htm for a list of MIs. It doesn't seem as though she had a tombstone, which isn't surprising.
