My geography is not too good  .....but Stranraer is in Wigtownshire though isn't it and not too far away from Wigtown? I have an ancestor who was born in Kirkinner and she  put Dumphries down as her place of birth on one of the census's. Maybe not being too good at geography runs in the genes. :D
