Hi

Just been looking at the marriage witnesses for Tamer and Joseph. They were George and Frances Smith. I found a possible couple in the 1851 census with a daughter Martha. What made me look into them further was the fact that Frances states she was born Coulton East (poss East Cowton).

At Bishopton where Martha was born there is a marriage of a George Smith to a Frances Peverall 1832(poss Peverley).

Looking on the familysearch there is a Fanny born to John and Martha (year of birth fits with census -1). Tamer's parents I am sure were also John and Martha.

So it looks like you have the correct family, wouldn't you agree? Would value your opinion :)

Hi

More evidence :D

Durham Registrars Site shows a Tamar Walker previously Peverley marrying John Hughes 1857 Durham Central.

No wonder we couldn't find a death for her.

I would never have found them if it hadn't been for you. Thanks a million!

Oh that's a great find, well done! I'd wondered if she re-married (again).

Possible death, Tamar Hughes, 4q 1860, Gateshead 10a, 305
Durham Records Online has the burial - d.o.b c 1800, residence at time of death Hill Top.

Yes I agree that death must be her. I cannot see any others that would be possible, thanks

Durham Records Online has the burial - d.o.b c 1800,

That date of birth ties up with the baptism date.

Seems to me that not only did second husband Joseph not know where she was born, he also didn't know how old she was  ::)

 ;D

Just been on Durham Records online and I see the 1857 marriage was at Sherburn. Cannot get any results with fathers name of Peverley though. Maybe she just put deceased?

John was born abt 1821. I was trying to find him in 1861 out of curiosity really, looking for Hill Top.
