They are all hiding in 1881
« on: Friday 06 July 12 13:36 BST (UK) »
Ok where are these folk hiding in 1881 I've tried everything I can think of

Herbert Goodwin born in Ombersley Worcestershire 1853
1861 RG9/2110 fo 46 p15
1871 RG10/3068 fo114 p26
He appears to marry in 1878 Crickhowell District, Brecon/Monmouth
1891 RG12/ 4355 fo 22 p17 57, Union Street, Bedwellty, Tredegar

they had a son Joseph 1879 Bedwellty dist. and a daughter Elizabeth Mar 1881 These are from Tredegar on the 1891 census so where were the family in 1881??

hope some one can see what I can't
Many thanks

Yes and in 1911 its really very odd the whole family just seem to go into hiding in 1881 I'm glad its not just me who can't see them its so strange the children are born in Tredegar 1879,1880,1882 1884 so both sides of the census
Thanks for looking

yes, and Herbert is getting older...59 in 1911!!

I've tried ( and I'm sure you have as well!) just searching for first name Herbert, Bert, Harry(?)
Godwin, Jodwin, anything ending 'win' - its so stange that NONE of them are there!
The only other thing is if they were abroad.
One of my ancestors was m,issing from 1901 census - turned out they went to America 1900, had a child and were back in 1902!!
