William Thomas and Ann Hewitt
« on: Friday 06 July 12 21:09 BST (UK) »
I am looking for help locating the where-abouts (and parents of) William Thomas and Ann Hewitt who - if I am correct in my research so far - were married in July 1857 in Manchester and are the parents of Annie Louisa Thomas (DOB 15/02/1870 in Shefield). From the 1881 Census, I know that Annie Louisa was living with her Aunt,  Jane Hewitt. I then looked for a Thomas/Hewitt marriage and this was the only one I could find. The family are from Manchester, so hopefully this is right. Jane Hewitt is from Warrington but I cannot find a Jane and Ann Hewitt on the same Census together in 1841 or 51. I do not know if Annie Louisa Thomas had any siblings. Please help!  ???
Many thanks, Lee.

This would appear to be the family minus William in the 1871 census:

Court 1 Conway, Brightside Bierlow, Sheffield

Ann Thomas, Head, Mar, 38, Labourers Wife, Lancashire Warrington
Charles E, Son, 13, Scholar, Manchester
James J T, Son, 12, Scholar, Manchester
Alfred, Son, 8, Manchester
George, Son, 4, Sheffield
ANNE L, Daur, 2, Sheffield

Either the first Anne I found on the baptisms died or she is not exactly telling the truth about her age on the census!

Regards,
