Thanks Neil, Without sounding abit dumb, by this research does that mean the Pullen family originally come from England? As both of John Kingsnorth Pullen's parents come from England, United Kingdom? Well married there so I'm assuming they lived there.

To me, this is what RChat is all about,  sharing and helping and finding clues to help each of us with our own family history.

Cheers,  JM  (I sometimes think that Rookwood Cemetery could well be my forebears own private cemetery, as so many of them went there regularly during their own lifetimes, and then later, were buried or cremated there, or their names added to headstones for their relatives.)

Hi, Yes the family started life out here from English Rotts[/s] :-[whoops roots like so many others.

Jesse the original! I wish someone could open that Doc I noted on reply 16. It obviously has more on your Pullen Roots in England.

A question my father is very interested in is, Does anybody know what ethnicity the Pullen family is. Dad's always wondered as his mother and his aunty's (father was Thomas Warrick Pullen) all had jetblack hair.

There is a lovely long biography of Jesse Pullen on a tree on ancestry (which I think is what you mean Neil)

Jesse Pullen baptised 5 April 1795 to parents William Pullen and Sarah Pullen (nee Wills) in Kentish village of Chilham

Jesse married Harriett Kingsnorth in Margate 20 oct 1818 at St john's.  After birth of Mary Ann in 1819 and George in 1821 they decided to emigrate ...

regards,
   Ros

Adding William Pullen 1764-1843  and Sarah Wills 1769-1846 both born and died in Chilham Kent
