Hello Tina,

Elizabeth McDermott married Henry Hamal in Bathgate in 1873, and this mc unlike her DC gives her parents names, will attach it here.  Henry died in 1880 of chronic bronchitis in Omoa, Shotts, she's in the census there in 1881 under the name O'Hara, but I can't find her in the 1891 or 1901 census under either name, in Shotts or Carluke, or anywhere in Scotland, also tried variants of both surnames and forenames with no luck.  She dies as per the cert I sent this morning still in Omoa, so I think she stayed there, but dear knows what name she was using.  I even tried McDermott with no luck.

I see that you've also been in touch with George!!    C U soon George, looking forward to it.

cheers .....  Meg

Whoops meant to say that both Henry and Elizabeth were living in West Calder when they married, they had to go to Bathgate as it was the nearest Roman Catholic Church in the district, want a photo of the church, it's just down the road from me.

Hugh and Elizabeth were married 4th May 1855 Ireland - no place mentioned!!  Hugh's birth in 7/7/1868 has their marriage place as Cavan in Ireland, so a wee bit more for you to add.

cheers ....  Meg

How about this entry for 1901...hard isn't it with transcriptions like this!

Lizzie Oharrow 60 b. Ireland
Patrick Oharrow 30 miner b. Carluke
Hugh Oharrow 28 miner b. West Calder, Lanarkshire
John Mooney 23
Lizzie Mooney 21
Mary Mooney 16
Bridget Mooney 14
Hugh Mooney 12
Annie Mooney 9
William Mooney 7
Rosie Mooney 4

Address: 124 Omoa Square, Shotts

The Mooneys are all showing as grandchildren.
