Thanks Stan,
Carrs Square, Church Road, Runcorn is entered in my family history without reference other than my deceased granduncle gave it as his abode the year before his marriage.  His main address was with his parents in Altrincham; stated as such on his marriage certificate.  His name: Alan Bertram Crosby born 1893 Altrincham   c1916 he was a Corporal in the Manchester Regiment and survived the Great War. The family, over generations had a strong connection with Runcorn and it's possible Alan was serving his Drapery Apprinticeship and Carrs Square was his lodging address.  I will try and get his Service records up.  Perhaps that will guide us a little more.
Thanks for your time and interest.   Ray. (Oxfordshire.)

It is Parrs Square, not Carrs Square. I will try to find the location for you.

Hi Ray,
If you go to http://www.old-maps.co.uk/maps.html?coords=351200,383110 you can see Parrs Square on the 1876 1:500 Town Plan, between the National School and the Barley Mow Public House.
