Rogers of Llanfair DC
« on: Saturday 14 July 12 19:49 BST (UK) »
I'd be grateful for as much census information as possible on the two 'Rogers' families who lived at
Fron Fawr and Brynobwst at Llanfair DC . I think the family at Brynobwst turns into 'Edwards' at the end of the 19th century.

It looks possible that the 1851 Brynobwst family below is the source for both the later families via John and Martha:-

HO 107  2504  296  2

Robert   62
Ellen      62
John      29
Martha  26
David    23

All born Llanfair DC
Significant parts of Llanfair DC are missing from the 1841 and 1861 censuses.

Regards
Roger

Thank you all very much indeed. Two of us are working in opposite directions to see if we've got the same family in mind ! .
I'm a bit confused as to the status of some of the villages in this area, as I do not know the place at all. Is Derwen considered a separate parish , or is it a village within the parish ?

Don't make the mistake which I did, there are two Derwens! one is a village a few miles due west of Llanfair DC close to Corwen, the other is the now defunct parish of Derwen Llanerch (often refered to as just Derwen) which is less than a  mile east of Pentrecelyn where Rogers families later farmed (Pendyffryn, Pentrecelyn farm, Fron Ucha etc.)
