Ok. I have Robert Adams Born in Belfast 1897
Immigrated to Canada on Board the SS Victorian Arriving in Quebec, August 1920
Destination: Windsor to join Brother-in-law Alexander Allen.

The query is for any info between 1920 and 1961 if he married during this time, and if there were any children from this marriage.

I have him Married to a Lena Pearl Donaldson May 16, 1961, in Vancouver, BC He would have been 59 or 60 then.

Robert Adams Died Dec 29, 1966 with Lena Pearl Adams dying on April 20, 1978.  I have copies of both of their Death Certificates.  On Robert's death certificate it indicates he was in BC for 46 years. which suggests that this might have been a 2nd marriage.

Hope this info is of use to your search for me. B/B

Hi Bugle Boy,

Yes, that's possible. You need to ask one of the moderators - the moderator for this board is KarenM

Family search have marriage records for British Columbia 1859 - 1932 but unfortunately  I did not see any sign of Robert.

Vancouver Library have a "Ask the librarian" link - have you contacted them to see if they can find an Obituary for Robert ?

No problem.  Will have another re-read through tomorrow to refresh my memory.  You never know some "genius" may come along in the meantime with further information for you - hope so.

All the best for now
Sandra.

Hi Bugle Boy,

Nothing new coming to light on Robert. There are no Central registries/indexes in Canada for BMDs.  Canada has very strict privacy laws and each province imposes its own even further.  Additionally, some provinces are more research friendly than others so researching in Canada can be challenging.  The last available Canadian Census was 1911 apart from Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta which was 1916 - 1921 is due out later this year.
As a guide BMD Records are only available for births more than a 100 years ago, marriages 80 years ago and deaths 70 years ago. So far the only record showing for Robert is the death record unfortunately.
