Early Bond(e) baptisms in Bakewell area COMPLETED WITH THANKS
« on: Tuesday 17 July 12 20:53 BST (UK) »
Hello Chatters

Please can someone help me and locate a baptism for John BOND c 1645.  I hope that his parents were John BONDE and Dorothy (KNOWLES).  I know that they married in Bakewell 18/4/1642 and alternative places for their childrens' baptisms are North Wingfield or Darley.  I have found a baptism for a Samuel in Darley 29/9/1650 who could be John's brother. Various family members seem to move between the three places.

Thanks for looking.
NC.

Hi......your baptism for Samuel Bond 29.09.1650 Darley is almost certainly the brother of John Bond 13.06.1647 Darley..both shown as sons of John Bond....(Source St Helens Darley Dale PR's)......no wife shown........which was not uncommon that far back.

There are no BOND baptisms at either Bakewell or North Wingfield..except for an ELIZABETH 1858.

I have done an enormous amont of work for the Bond family of Darley Dale..so anything else you think i might be able to help you with..just shout..

Thank you Derek for the baptism of John.

Are you related to the Bonds of Darley Dale by any chance ?

In that case I'll send you a PM -  the modern day John may be willing to swap information with me.
