Jack Eugene Schlegel, 81, Cushing, died on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001 at Cushing Regional Hospital.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. today at Osage Cemetery, 1 mile south and west of Agra. The Rev. Doyle Seeley will officiate. Services are under the direction of Palmer Funeral Home of Cushing.
Schlegel was born Jan. 31, 1920 in Polaski, Iowa to Vernon Eugene and Helen Reeves Schlegel. He grew up in Bloomfield, Iowa and was a graduate of the Bloomfield High School in 1938. He attended three years of college at Colver Stockton.
He was married to Norah Chatman on Aug. 6, 1956 in Yuma, Ariz. He was a mechanical engineer. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Bloomfield. Schlegel was also World War II veteran, serving in the Army.
Jack Schlegel is survived by his wife, two sons- Phillip Schlegel ofWarren, Ohio, and Steve Schlegel of Salem, Ohio and two daughters, Jacki Mastro of Chino Hills, Calif., and Kim Reedy of Tryon He also had a brother Dick Schlegel of Ottumwa, Iowa, nine grandchildren, Stephanie Schlegel, Rebecca Schlegel, Christy Schlegel, Jonathon Schlegel, Joshua Mastro, Sean Mastro, Jason Reedy, Jeremy Reedy and Scott Schlegel and two great grandchildren, Austin and Gretta Schlegel.
