Looking for information on extended family of Richard Snell who arrived in Victoria in 1852 with his wife Mary Hannah Bishop. They originated in Cornwall, went to Burra, South Australia, thence to Victoria and back to Burra

Just to clarify - it appears that Richard and Mary married in Australia (26 Aug 1852, in Kooringa) rather than them arriving as a married couple.  Mary is down as Mary Anna Bishop

I have found a reference to Richard's mother, Jane Tregay but nothing about his father. Newspaper articles about the Snell / Bishop family tell me that Richard and Mary Anna lived in Victoria for 30 years. Other members of his family appear to have moved here from Burra as well

Many thanks Daisy. That's them.  I couldn't find any record of William. Still not sure if he came to Burra / Victoria with the rest of the family.

Hi Val, Richard Snell is my great, great grandfather. I have very little information of the family in Aust apart from that which I have found on the internet. My great grandmother Sarah Jane Snell was born in Campbells Creek, Victoria and remained here when Richard and Mary Hannah returned to Burra. I have had brief contact with a Bishop descendant in NZ. I would like to chat more.

Hi Janne,
Have some information on Richards children, including Sarah Jane, and some of his Grandchildren Also have information on Richard's siblings and their desc. as well as his ancestral line back 4 generations in England. Too much to include in a post. Happy to share but how do I get it to you?. Are you on Ancestry? If so check out my Pinson family tree - have some information there but not all. Store most in a seperate system. You could message me through Ancestry with your contact details.
Richard & Mary did return to Kooringa. Richard died there in 1906 & Mary in 1915. Both buried Burra Cemetry.
Cheers,
Val
