Thank you JJen, Sounds good. Slowly building this family. Trouble is the name changed to Davies later on which is very confusing. Syljun

Hi Jjen, Can I ask you please to let me know where this family is in 1861. Can't seem to get a lead to further search. I am trying to find siblings of my Grt.Grt.Grandfather William and a Thomas is the only one I have found so far. Many thanks, Syljun

Possible 1861 -

Thomas Davies ??? 55 Hawker b. Carmarthenshire, Wales
Ann Davies wife 69 b. Carmarthenshire, Wales
Wm Evans lodger 23 Smith b. Carmarthenshire, Wales

RG9/Piece 4100/Folio 40/Page 44 Neig Road, Swansea

Having looked at the image I am not convinced that Ann's age is 69 as transcribed. The reason I think that this is the 1861 census for Thomas is that on the image just below Thomas' details is Middle Road which is where they are shown as living in 1871 -

Thomas David 70 Labourer in a tin mine b. Llanddarog, Carmarthenshire
Ann David 80 b. Llanarthney, Carmarthenshire

RG10/Piece 5449/Folio 29/Page 55 Middle Road, Swansea.

May I suggest you post details of William as someone may be able to help you with his siblings.

Regards

JJ

Thanks Jjen, Certainly sounds like same Thomas and Ann. Also Wm Evans as lodger - Smith. 1851 has John Evans - Journeyman smith, Nephew. age  of Ann seems consistent.

William David bap 1801 Llandarrog son of John David of Cwmcoch Farm married Jane Lewis 1823 at Llanelly.
Children - John,David, Elizabeth, Thomas (my line) Mary, Anne, Daniel, Harriet, William and Joseph.
Lived at Caemain, Llanelly.
Occupation of William seems to be Haulier.
As I said the surname seemed to change to Davies which is a pity.
I have tried to research children to some extent. I know Joseph died soon after birth.
Anyone recognise these names. Particularly interested to go back further with John David and any siblings of son William. Thank you for info. you have given. Syljun
