Mary Ann FORD,
« on: Thursday 26 July 12 21:09 BST (UK) »
I have posted this on the Gloucestershire Forum as well.
Mary Ann Ford. b.1857, Newport, Monmouth, to Irish parents, John and Mary Ford, from Kinsale and Queenstown, Co Cork.
Mary Ann is shown on the 1861 census for Stroud, Glos, living with her parents, her mother died later that year.
The 1871 census shows her living with her stepmother in Trowbridge, Wilts. John, her father, died in Trowbridge in January of that year.
The 1881 census for Stroud shows the family back living in Stroud, but Mary Ann is not mentioned.
Did she marry, or did she die.
I would welcome any help on this. I have tried everything I can think of to solve what happened to her.
Thanks.
Jane.

Hi

There are 5 of Mary Ann Ford marriages on freebmd between 1875-1881 in all areas of Gloucs and another 4 in Wiltshire

Have you tried matching them to 1881 entries

Some of those marriages can be found on the IGI Pilot site which will help you eliminate some of them as fathers names are shown

I was checking for info on a Mary Ann Ford and came across this post.
I have just "met" your Mary Ann in the 1881 census, working as a servant at Streatham.
She is listed as being from Catford, Wiltshire....more likely Clatford??
 ;D
Dobbins, Pitkin, Shepherd and White, Stokenchurch.
Clack, Berkshire. Kingwell, Cornwall and London. Wood, Surrey.
