« on: Friday 03 August 12 17:51 BST (UK) »
Hi can anyone help me with this .I am stuck on these people forever.I am looking for the existence  of Robert Deegan and Mary Kennedy. They had a son born about 1860 in Wexford and when the son marries in Dublin 1888 it states they are living in New Ross.I cant  find a marriage or death or anything on them .I dont know if they had any other children as i cant seem to get past this. Thanks

Have you checked New Ross parish records for a possible marriage or baptism of their son ?

Transcripts for some Co. Wexford records  are on RootsIreland, but I dont think any for New Ross are on the system yet.

Do you have a place of birth for the son, or just 'Wexford' - as in County Wexford ?

I think a search for the son's baptism might be a better place to start. If you can find this parish then you have a starting point to search for the parents marriage, possible siblings etc ..

New Ross could mean that it was the closest town to where Robert and Mary lived - they could have been located in one of the surrounding parishes, or from a different part of Co. Wexford originally.

Other than a manual trawl of all the parishes near to New Ross I think it may be better to wait to see what Co. Wexford records RootsIreland add and see if a baptism shows up for Patrick.

They've no estimate on their website - just three parishes added so far, nothing added for a few months. The alternative would be searching microfilms for Co. Wexford... maybe starting around New Ross. Could be a gamble if you are not 100% certain where Patrick was born...
