I can't read it all, but this is what I make of it:

Erich Rasmussen, shoemaker in Klædebo Kvarter* No. 207 and his wife Charlotte Mund, _; _; _;, Rasmus Olsen, born 28 Dec. 1803, Godfathers: Mogens Rosenkrands Mund, Sørensen, shoemaker, Bendt Gy____ Guld____; godmothers: Anne Marie Pingel _____, housewife in _____, and unmarried woman Doris Wil___ ; _; 4; _

*I found what looks like this family at this address in Copenhagen, so am fairly sure "Klædebo Kvarter" is what the abbreviation in the extract stands for.

You're welcome :).

Here are a couple more pieces of the puzzle...... I thought the 3rd godfather looked like Bendt Gyssing, Guldsmed but wasn't sure. However that is probably correct, as the 1801 census lists a goldsmith (guldsmed) called Bendix Gysen, though I can't find him in other years.
I still can't make out the word after Anne Marie Pingel, but I think her address is Ulkegade, which no longer exists, or at least not under that name.

Isabel you are a marvel, where do you look to find these things, I have been searching for years, but no luck until this, I am trying to find when my 2nd great Grandfather who was Olsens Son he came to australia,  he was

Erich Jorgenole Rasmussen
Birth 1831 in Kobenhavn - Denmark
Death 21 Dec 1916 in Sebastopol, Victoria, Australia

On his death Cert, it says Erik not Erich so I do not know which one is correct, and it says his Father is Olsen Rasmussen and his Mother Kirstine Larsen
Erick married Charlotte Rowe in 1862 in Victoria Australia, so he came well before 1862, I do not know if you are able to help with this.

Hi Cheryl

To find out when he came to Aus. it might be an idea to post on the Immigrants & Emigrants board, as there are Rootschatters much better than I am at finding passenger records.

I've posted some info. on websites for Danish research here: http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,609706.0.html

If the sites are new to you, start with the Danish Demographic Database. If you can find Erich/Erik there with his parents, it will give you the parish in Copenhagen in which to find church records.  Spelling variations are common. Try both, and use wildcards (see the info. panel on the right hand side of the search page).
I'll have a look too and see what I can find.
Isabel

I can find only one Erich Jørgen Ole Rasmussen who approximately matches the information you have, and that is in 1834.
Go to the DDD advanced search page. Name: eri% rasmussen; county: Svendborg; year: 1834.  His father is a smallholder and skipper(of a boat)
However, this Erich was baptised in Thurø By, Svendborg in 1830, so may not be the right one.

For the birth record, go to Arkivalier online. Choose Søg I Kirkebøger, Amt = Svendborg; Herred = Sunds; Sogn = Turø.   Click Opslag 4, and it is the last entry on page.  The writing is quite difficult to read.
1830
Born Mon. 7th June  Erich Jørgen Ole Rasmussen
Bap. In church __ 4th(?) July
Parents: Skipper Rasmus Olsen & his wife Kirsten Larsdatter
Godparents: Skipper Peder Clemensen, Skipper Andreas Rasmussen, bachelor Jens Olsen, Skipper Niels Christian Nielsen's wife Anne Cathrine Olsdatter and Miss Marie Olsdatter __ ___ (this last bit sometimes says where they are from, but I can't read it)
Will send a PM.

Hello Isabel it has been a few years since my last post, This Erich born in Thuro is the right one I went to My Heritage and found him there in family Rasmus Olsen trouble is there were a few Rasmus Olsens, but found where the right one was when they never had a death Date for him as they never knew he had come to Australia and I knew it was right as Erich had named all his children after his brothers and sisters, so it has been a long search but at least could go back to abt 1730 to his grt grandfather Olle Jorgensen, I thank you for your help
