Russell family of Nottingham

i am trying to find some information on my family, my great grandmother is called Ethel Russell ( no longer alive) she is from Nottingham and was married to a man originally from Jamaica unsure of his first name just know his last name is Russell i know he had a brother called Charlie Russell who also moved to Nottingham.   i am unsure when they moved to England thinking around 75 -80 years ago, i don't have dates of when they got married or died.

would be grateful if you could tell me where to start looking/ best websites, or you have any information.

What was Ethel's maiden name and did she have any other christian names apart from Ethel?  Using that info you can check freebmd for a marriage which will give her husbands name   www.freebmd.org.uk

If you don't know her maiden name - you can use freebmd to search for the births of any children.  If those children were born in or after the September qtr of 1911 - Ethel's maiden name will be shown against the entry

A copy of the marriage cert will give you their ages plus the names and occupations of their respective fathers

Did Ethel die in Nottingham before 2006?  If so - what year did she die

i don't know her maiden name have just found out she had a sister called Doll, also found out that she was married to Fred Russell, he had several siblings Charlie, bill, Paul, Marie, Charlotte and paulette. i am unsure what their parents were called but i know their dad was from Jamaica and there mum was from Germany.

Ethel died in may 1998 or may 1999.

What year did Frederick die and how old was he when he died?  What was his middle christian name?

Have you found a birth for him on freebmd showing his mothers maiden name?

If you don't have that information - you will need to buy a copy of the 1936 marriage cert to get his second name and his age plus his fathers name

i don't know what year it was or how old he was, i think his middle name is John, cant find birth for him, he wasn't born in the uk, think he was born in Germany if not then jamaica, think his father might have had the same name as him.
