My dad COMPLETED THANKS
« on: Tuesday 14 August 12 16:47 BST (UK) »
Hi, there Chatters.
Could anyone please, pretty please, get rid of the marks on this photo of my dad.  And also, am I right in thinking this is taken around 1935?  Or is it earlier?  Ta everso!

Oh dear, think I got the size a bit wrong - sorry!  (And maybe someone can tell me why, please?)

Thank you so much everyone.  It's the only good picture I have of him - now made even better -  and I am so grateful, as always.

GUIDE FOR PHOTO RESTORATIONS PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR SCANNER BED IS CLEAN AND SCAN AT A RESOLUTION OF 300-600 WITH THE SCALE AT 100% MINIMUM.

If you would like a coloured version, details such as hair colour , eyes and clothing etc.  if known  would be helpful to restorers

Regards Roy

From what we can see of his clothing could be 1920's or 30's,however the 1 1/2" starched collar is more associated with the 20's rather than 30's as collar stiffeners had arrived by then.
The card mount or cardstock might help.

Thanks for that, Jim.  I have since found a photo of him with my mum in or around 1936 and he is quite a bit older in that one, so I am going to assume that it is around 1920-25.  If I can find a photo of my late brother aged around 35-40, I will be fairly close to the mark as they were so-o-o-o alike, it's scary.  My thanks again.#
