Battle of Degsastan

I've long been thwarted in trying to find the precise location of the Battle of Degsastan circa 603. For a number of reasons, I'd like to think it was at Dawston, but I know scholars are split regarding that location. I gather battle finds have been recorded in the area? Shouldn't the 'Time Team' mob get busy there?!
I know that Deg is Welsh for ten & that the Brythonic Celts of Rheged (Cumbria) & the Kingdom of Strathclyde Celts (Southern Scotland) spoke a similar tongue to Welsh. Ten stones? I wonder if Ninestane Rig near Newcastleton was once ten stones in number?
